The Ask: After 2020 a lot changed. Companies needed a clearer stance on social responsibility and greater transparency on their environmental and social impact. With that in mind, IBM needed not only an annual report, but also a corporate responsibility report.
The Approach: Using a lot of the same team from the IBM Annual Report, we implemented a lot of the same processes we fine tuned and improved in the recent IBM Annual Report. As a lead content strategist and lead content manager, I made sure we created a minisite that was strategic, intentional, and easy-to-use. As a content manager, I managed edits and changes as a first responder and last line of defense for both the minisite and the report.
The Result: The report was another hard project. But once again, we created a report that was both professional and in-depth, but also breathtaking and encouraging. And a website to complement it.
The Win: If the IBM Annual Report was a learning opportunity, then the IBM Corporate Responsibility Report was the pay off. As a content manager, finding the order of operations was tricky to figure out, but once we got to the CRR, the process was a well-oiled machine.
