Sappi | Stock Book

The Ask: There is a long-lasting relationship between VSA Partners and Sappi. Over the years, the stock book was known as a daunting, dreaded project for both the client and practitioner team. With thousands and thousands of cells of information across six paper brands and different stocking needs year to year, the stock book was a routine project that served as a big, but necessary headache.

The Approach: At the time, I was already working on other Sappi projects as a content strategist, but came into this project as a content manager. Over the years, there was no system to organize and consolidate all the stocking information. With so many brochures and sell sheets pulling information from the stock book, it made all the sense in the world to consolidate the information into one place—a single source of truth.

The Result: At the end of this project, there were spreadsheets for each of the six brands. With any special notes and legal disclaimers and the thousands of specifications, we made sure every important detail was included.

The Win: For me, this project served two purposes—1) fix a broken system the VSA and Sappi teams were working with, and 2) give them a sustainable method to keep it organized in the future.
